NOT ALL MINISTRIES ARE THE SAME

Young Adults are some of the busiest people among us, so are often highly particular about where they commit to spend their time and energy. In order for you, as a Young Adult, to be “all in” with church, there must be some crucially important elements in play:

GROW IN DISCERNMENT: Young Adults need to discern this opportunity for meaningful participation in the church, that is why at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, our Young Adult Ministry gatherings are organized in such a way to accommodate that growth. At each gathering, we start with a meal and fellowship. Then we spend time in formation with various publications and videos through Evangelical Catholic, Word on Fire, Ascension, Formed and more!

BE IN IT FOR THE LONG HAUL: Young adults must begin to see this as a lifelong journey with God and His people rather than a season of participation in some activities.

OUR PROGRAM OFFERS FLEXIBILITY: These gatherings are designed specifically so that if you miss one, it is not the end of the world. Each time we meet, we focus on different topics and you still receive formative support in your faith journey in a welcoming group of peers.

Consider your end game

Our vision for Young Adult Ministry is to grow disciples. That is why Young Adult leadership is trained to help facilitate small group gatherings through Reach More training. Each Fall, we train for 12 weeks to discover the gift of Discipleship and how to nurture it among our peers.  You can be a beneficiary of the training others receive, or discern whether you might be hearing the call to complete Reach More training yourself.

CHRIST GAVE US THE MAP: This model that we have adopted comes straight from our Lord. We start with a small group and nurture those relationships, just like Jesus. He had 12 specific followers, but within those 12 he had three he called close friends, and within those three one he mentored one the most. Within this vision, young adults can best respond to the question of why they need to share their stories with others in order to facilitate the conversion and growth of the church.
